I remember when I first moved to London—all the way from Madrid—and was so looking forward to gay pride. I always thought: here in England it would be so much better than in my hometown… and boy I was wrong and a bit surprised as Madrid Pride is way better (but that is no secret ).
Luckily for me there was a few answers to my needs here in London where there is always something to keep you stimulated. Forget the Olympics. Why watch from the distance when you can do some exercising yourself? I’m talking some serious disco cardio and cider bottle lifting In a couple of weeks.
On the weekend of the 14th of June there is Lovebox, a festival that goes on for 3 days in Victoria Park. Friday pretty much focuses on urban music; Saturday will be a treat for your ears if you are into your happening indie bands and underground house music —hang on in there— Sunday is gay gay gay. I mean one of the best outdoor gay days I can recommend on the planet… so get booking!

Where else could you see the legend that is Chaka Khan, Miss Grace Jones, The NY Downlow ( an infamous pop-up disco that can be found in Glastonbury), or Dalston Superstore !
Choose your straw hat wisely, and some nice shorts, and get down and dirty east London style. I mean, even when it rains this festival gets sold out.
Another highly recommended event is Summer Rites, organized by Wayne Shires. This one reappeared last year in london after a long break and was so good we simply cannot wait for the early September installment. This time in Shoredich Park, this festival is super GAY. Basically the biggest gay clubs in London put this little monster on the road every year with different stages and tents from the clubs and a bit of a gay funfair, happy days!
I had a bit of a preview last week at the opening party and was pretty amazed by the hot guys and the music that had something for everybody. I was hanging out all night ( and also DJ for a bit ) at the East Bloc tent , and I’m looking forward to my set for the London club DISH at the actual event early September.
